HELA GOVERNOR PRIORITISE EDUCATION AND DECLARED FREE EDUCATION




• Free education for elementary to secondary schools.
• K8m allocated for tertiary students.

Parents in Hela Province will not pay for their children’s school fees. Thank you to Hela Governor Philip Undialu for the foresight to relief parents.

The Hela Provincial Government (HPG) under the leadership of Governor Undialu has approved FREE EDUCATION for schools in the province.

The ‘Free Education’ will cover students attending elementary to secondary schools within the province.

Governor Undialu has urged schools not to send students home because of school fees.

“As soon as all students are registered and enrolled, funding will be released without delays. So schools must not send students home because of school fees.”

The firebrand governor also said that HPG has allocated K8 million to help tertiary students with their fees. And students are urged to register with provincial education division to benefit from this funding.

“Hela Provincial Government has allocated K8 million for tertiary students. The funding will also cover children of public servants from other provinces who have served Hela and its people.”

Notice 01-2020: HUEF TUITION FEE ASSISTANCE IN 2020 & 2020 APPLICATION FORM



A. INTRODUCTION
In this issue of notices, Hela Undialu Education Foundation inform about the following:
  • Introduction (this).
  • Names of Institutions eligible for 2020 Hela Undialu Education Foundation (HUEF) Tuition Fee Assistance (TFA;
  • Application Forms for 2020 and Instruction Sheet; and
  • Important Reminders to students (both new and continuing).
All in all, it serves to inform all the students, parents and guidance of the students who will be studying in one of the tertiary institutions in Papua New Guinea as well as abroad, that Hela Undialu Education Foundation will roll out is program of assisting fees as usual in 2020 after having rolled out successfully in the last two years (2018-2019).

The Tuition Fee Assistance (TFA) from HUEF started in 2018 and continued to last year (2019) so this year (2020) will be third term. So far more than 3000 plus Hela students have been assisted in the following institutions:


B. ELIGIBLE LIST OF INSTITUTIONS FOR 2020 FEE ASSISTANCE
  1. Universities (seven (7))
  2. Teachers' Colleges (seventeen (17) )
  3.  Nursing or CHW training institutions (fifteen (15))
  4. Technical, Business or Agricultural colleges (sixteen (16) )
  5.  Private Institutions (thirty-one (31) i.e. 15 in major private institutions and 16 in minor institutions)
  6. Religious/Bible colleges (eight (8))
  7. National High Schools (six (6) )
  8. Overseas/Abroad (44 Institutions in 8 countries)
